ECOPROFIT®

ECOPROFIT® (in full Ecological Project for Integrated Environmental Protection, in German ÖKOPROFIT®) is a concept that it offered throughout the world. The Project is a cooperative approach between regional authorities and local companies with the goal of reducing operating costs while simultaneously conserving natural resources.

Important elements of the concept include joint workshops involving the participating organisations, during which the aspects of operational environmental protection are communicated and the project participants receive individual advice directly. At the end of the project, the project participants are audited based on a catalogue of criteria (e.g. presentation of a waste management concept, successful implementation of measures, an ambitious environmental programme, environmental policy, an environmental team, use of key indicators) and are honoured by the project sponsor for their performance.

Who initiates ECOPROFIT®?

A project sponsor must initiate an ECOPROFIT® project. The project sponsors are normally towns, local authorities and districts. It should be noted in this respect that the implementation of ECOPROFIT® means licensing costs for the project sponsor. The licences for ECOPROFIT® are awarded worldwide by the Cleaner Production Centre Austria (CPC) in Graz. In Germany the Bavarian state capital Munich provides the work materials in return for a fee.

Who implements an ECOPROFIT® project?

CMC has ten years experience in successfully implementing municipal environmental and climate protection projects. We regard ourselves here as a full service provider and assist the project sponsor with every stage of the project. The internal effort for the project sponsor is therefore minimised. When advising the project participants, we can draw on the experience gained from ten years of consulting. However, we can also include our experience from other projects (introduction of management systems, process optimisation, mobility projects, etc.).

Who can take part in an ECOPROFIT® project?

Companies of any size and from all industries, clubs, service providers, social agencies and craft enterprises can take part in an ECOPROFIT® project.

What specific objectives are pursued with ECOPROFIT®?

  • Lower costs through efficient use of resources
  • Legal certainty in regard to environmentally relevant questions.
  • Improved image due to the public award as an "ECOPROFIT® company"
  • Basis for introducing an environmental management system according to EMAS or ISO 14001, and/or an energy management system according to ISO 50001
  • Exchange of experiences and strengthening of contacts in a regional network
